Raymond Paul Svatos Sr.

      Raymond Paul Svatos Sr., 80, of Fairbanks, Alaska, died Friday, April 25, 2008, of natural causes in Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.

      Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, in the St. James Catholic Church in Washington with the Rev. Ed O'Melia officiating. Interment with military honors conducted by the Washington American legion Post No. 29 will take place in Elm Grove Cemetery. A general memorial has been established. The Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington is handling the arrangements.

      Mr. Svatos was born Aug. 31, 1927, in Tyndall, S.D. He married Mary Hepner on Feb. 23, 1950, in Cedar Rapids.
