Raymond Peter Hammes

      HARPER - Raymond Peter Hammes, 95, of Coralville, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Windmill Manor in Coralville, following a brief illness.

      A funeral Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 10, at Holy Trinity Parish, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in rural Harper, with the Rev. Marty Goetz officiating. Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Harper. Visitation will be Saturday, July 9, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home in Keota, where a Knights of Columbus rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and a prayer service will take place at 7 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Congregation of Humility of Mary or Amenity Hospice.

      Mr. Hammes was born Jan. 14, 1910, near Harper, to Peter and Theresa (Gries) Hammes. He married Mary Bridget Lenaghan on Aug. 26, 1941, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Keswick.
