Raymond Allen "Ray" Fox, 57, of Ainsworth, died Saturday morning, Feb. 12, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He was born in Washington on Aug. 8, 1964, the son of Vernon S. and Lavondia L. Simpson Fox. He grew up in Brighton and graduated from Washington High School in 1982, then attended ISU. Ray held several jobs including Walmart and lawn maintenance for the golf course. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting mushrooms.

Ray is survived by his brothers, Ronald Fox of Ottumwa, Randy Fox (Tracy) of Brighton and Roy Fox (Rebecca) of Savannah, Ga.; nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Robert.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Brighton Community Church with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Burial will be in Sandy Hook Cemetery north of Brighton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton. Memorials for the American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home, the church, or mailed to the family at 3206 Highway 1, Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
