Reid D. Orris, 91, of Washington, Iowa, died Sunday, May 15, 2022, at United Presbyterian Home after failing in health for the past six months. Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 19, at Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Chaplain Andrew Zuehlke officiating. Calling hours will begin 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County. Online condolences may be sent for Reid's family through the web at www.jonesfh.com.
Reid D. Orris was born Feb. 27, 1931, in Ainsworth, Iowa, the son of Fred and Doris Porter (Hulick) Orris. He attended school in Ainsworth and graduated from Ainsworth High School. Reid was united in marriage to Katherine Luella Weeks on March 3, 1951. She passed away in 1999. Reid later married Donna Drea, who also preceded him in death.
Reid lived most of his adult life in Washington, Iowa. He lived in Marion, Iowa, for a short time. He was a truck driver for many people and many companies. Reid enjoyed being around family and friends. He enjoyed dancing, going to the Riverside Casino and cruising around in his golf cart. Reid loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending their many events. He especially enjoyed the times they spent fishing.
He is survived by three children, Cathy Pacha and husband Mike of Libertyville, Iowa, Linda Marie and husband Joe of Washington, Iowa, and Tim Orris and wife Debbie of Tiffin, Iowa; six grandchildren,Chad Pacha, Jill (Ben) Zahs, Jeff Marie, Shelby Marie, Andy (Candace) Orris and Jennifer (Nick) Mineart; six great-grandchildren, Emma, Lucas and Cooper Zahs, Rielly and Caden Orris, and Amaya Mineart; one sister, Maridee Woods of Washington, Iowa; and special friend, Betty Beenblossom of Washington, Iowa.
Reid was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Kate, in 1999; wife, Donna; and two brothers, Scott and Sam Orris.
