Rex E. Allensworth

    KALONA ? Rex E. Allensworth, 84, of Kalona, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, in the Pleasantview Home in Kalona following a short illness.

    Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, June 4, at the Kalona United Methodist Church in Kalona with the Rev. Gerry Kahler officiating.  Burial will be in the Sharon Hill Cemetery with military rites by the Wellman American Legion and Washington American Legion Post.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona.  A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to Kalona United Methodist Church, Hospice of Washington County, or a charity of the donor?s choice.

    Mr. Allensworth was born March 27, 1926, in Davenport, the son of Winn and Ethel (Pilcher) Allensworth.  He married Virginia Hochstetler on Aug. 3, 1947, in the Kalona Methodist Church.
