Richard Allan Stephens

Richard Allan Stephens, 72, of Washington, died Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at his home following a battle with polio.

      The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 1 at Ainsworth Community Church in Ainsworth, with the Rev. Scott Nesbitt officiating. Burial will be in Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth. Visitation will be from noon to 8:30 p.m. today at Jones-Eden Funeral, with family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established to Ainsworth Community Church.

Survivors include his wife; a brother, Boyd Stephens; a stepson, Wendell Demery of Washington; a stepdaughter, Yolanda Kelley of East Peoria, Ill; and two stepgrandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents.
