Richard Benjamin 'RB' Garner

      KALONA - Richard Benjamin "RB" Garner, 68, of Kalona, died Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, following a brief illness.

      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2005, at Kalona Mennonite Church in Kalona, with the Rev. Scott Swartzendruber officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday at Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for Kalona Mennonite Church.

      Mr. Garner was born Dec. 8, 1936, in Dowell, Md., to William Bryan and Mary Ethel (Humphreys) Garner Sr. On Feb. 8, 1964, he married Bette Gayle Lassiter in Mt. Harmony, Md.
