Richard D. Corry Jr., 87,
of Birmingham, Iowa, passed away Oct. 9, 2020, at Keosauqua Health Care Center. He was born Sept. 21, 1933, to Richard D. Corry Sr. and Wilda E. (Harness) Corry. Dick grew up in Birmingham and graduated from Birmingham High School in 1951. He married Donna R. McKee on June 27, 1954, at Stockport United Methodist Church.
Dick spent his career as a machine tool salesman. He worked for his uncle at Corry's Machine and Tool in Bonaparte before owning and operating Dick Corry Machinery in Birmingham. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Valley of Moline Consistory, Workman Lodge 634 A.F. & A.M., Galesburg Illinois Chapter OES and Stockport Iowa Chapter OES. Dick was a ham radio operator and an avid Iowa Hawkeye football fan. He loved to drive and took enjoyment in being able to drive through all 48 contiguous states.
He is survived by his wife, Donna R.; two sons, Jeffrey of Stockport, Iowa, and David of Sherman, Texas; a daughter, Carla of Oviedo, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Jesse Liles of Amarillo, Texas, Erin and Marley Corry of El Cajon, Calif., Brittney, Mason and Carson Corry of Sherman, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Wilda; and two brothers, William "Bill" Corry and Douglas Corry.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Spencer Cemetery, north of Stockport, Iowa. The family requests that an appropriate face covering be worn and social distancing guidelines are followed at the service.
