Richard J. Horesowsky

KALONA ? Richard J. Horesowsky, 75, of Richmond, died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 4, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond. Burial will be at a later date in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Riverside. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 3, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and a vigil service will be held at 2 p.m. A general memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Horesowsky was born July 19, 1940, the son of Richard and Josephine (Lyons) Horesowsky Sr. He married Joanne Rummelhart on March 5, 1962, at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Riverside.

He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and Kalona High School. He lived in the Richmond community his entire life, where he worked at and later owned Horesowsky Body Shop. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Joanne, of Richmond; four children, Lori Schrock and husband Jay of Kalona, Jeff Horesowsky and wife Amy of Wellman, Pat Horesowsky and wife Joan of Kalona, and Lisa Stika and husband Rob of Iowa City; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Clara Rummelhart.
