Richard L. Scarff October 6, 1930 - August 31, 2005

      Richard L. "Ditty" Scarff, 74, of Mt. Pleasant died on Wednesday Aug. 31, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.

      Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.  Rev. John Royer and Rev. Hank Ledbetter will officiate the services.  Burial will be held in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.  Visitation will begin after noon on Friday at the funeral home with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established and may be left at the funeral home.

      Survivors include his wife Kay of Mt. Pleasant, two daughters Nora Grace Scarff of Mt. Pleasant and Vicki Jo Scarff of Burlington;  two stepsons Randall Lanferman of Mt. Pleasant and Michael Lanferman of Houston Texas; and one stepdaughter Reta Noblett-Feld of Iowa City;  nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Scarff of Omaha Neb.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, two daughters Treva Lynn and Nancy Gail, and one stepdaughter Linda Ledbetter.
