Richard Lee Nelson

DAVENPORT Richard Lee Nelson, 69, of Davenport, died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at New Life Baptist Church at 7780 W. Locust Street in Davenport. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at the church. Memorials m ay be made to Genesis Hospice or the church. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport is handling the arrangements.

Mr. Nelson was born May 19, 1941, in Washington, the son of Carl James and Mildred Wilma (Kurtz) Nelson. He married Karen K. Kephart in 1961 in Washington.
