Richard Mark Champagne

      Richard Mark Champagne, 83, of Burlington, died at 7:40 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 29, 2002 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Burlington, with military rites conducted by VFW Posts 10102 and 9162, American Legion Post 52 and the Hamilton Walters Marine Corps League. Visitation will begin at noon on Wednesday, Jan 1 in the Lunning Chapel, and again from 9 a.m. until the service on Thursday in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with a 7 p.m. Rosary. A memorial has been established in his name.
