Richard Nicholson

      FAIRFIELD - Richard Nicholson, 79, of Brighton died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.

      Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield, with the Rev. Thomas Raphael-Nakos officiating. Burial will be in Howard Grove Cemetery, west of Pleasant Plain. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Central Iowa, the American Cancer Society or the Jefferson County 4-H Foundation.

      Mr. Nicholson was born Jan. 3, 1926, in Washington County to Raymond William and Kathryn (Frey) Nicholson. He married Helen Greiner on Dec. 9, 1955, in Fairfield.
