Richard Reinhard 'Dick' Pump

      ROCKFORD-Richard Reinhard "Dick" Pump, 81, of 602 1st Ave. NW, Rockford, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007, at the 11th St. Chautauqua Guest Home, Charles City, Iowa, of natural causes. Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007 at the Zion Lutheran Church, 805 E. Main, Rockford, Iowa at 11 a.m., with Pastor Patricia Shaw officiating. Visitation was held at the Zion Lutheran Church, Rockford, Iowa on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007 from 3 to 6 p.m.

      Dick was born Oct. 25, 1926 in Independence, Iowa to Otto and Anna (Barenthin) Pump, and grew up on the family farm in rural Jesup, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed in the Jubilee Lutheran Church in rural Black Hawk County. He attended school in Jubilee and graduated with the class of 1944 from Jesup High School.
