Richard W. Allen March 28, 1927 - May 2, 2004

Richard W. "Dick" Allen, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, died on Sunday, May 2, 2004, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      A family graveside service will be held at the Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun, with the Rev. Dr. Edward Peterson officiating. The body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Henry County Health Center Dialysis Unit and the American Diabetes Association. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, 709 Maple Leaf Drive, P.O. box 656, Mt. Pleasant, IA 52641.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jeffrey and his wife Margaret Allen of Denver; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Shirley and her husband Dick Harfst of Stockton, Calif.; two half-sisters, Barbara Allen and Judy Allen, both of Dade City, Fla.; and a half-brother, Lynn Allen, of Dade City.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; a half-brother, John Allen; and his step-mother, Vivian Allen.
