Ricky Lee Shuffler, 63, of Birmingham, IA, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021. As were his wishes, his body has been cremated. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Friends may leave online condolences at www.cranstonfamily

Ricky Lee Shuffler was born on July 9, 1958, in Council Bluff, IA, to Leonard Jr. and Betty Liles Shuffler. He graduated from Cala High School in Manteca, CA, and shortly after joined the United States Army. During this time, he married Gina Robinson and became the father of two children: Ricky Jr. and Tina. Ricky and Gina later divorced, and he was united in marriage to Dovie Cook. Ricky was a career military man and cared deeply for his country. He spent over twenty years in the United States Army and was proud of his country and his service. When he retired from the service he began working as an over the road truck driver where he spent many years working for Troutman Trucking out of Bonaparte, IA. Ricky was a skilled woodworker and loved spending time outside fishing. He enjoyed gambling and loved a good game of poker. He will be missed by his family and many friends.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ricky Jr. Shuffler; a stepson, Robert McCarty; a stepgrandson, Jackson McCarty; and three siblings, Tim, Leonard Jr., and Sandra.

Left to share his story is his wife, Dovie Shuffler of Birmingham, IA; a daughter, Tina (Michael) Hulen of Black Rock, AR; three stepsons, Ricky (Sierra) McCarty of Fairfield, IA, Richard "Little Dick" (Cady) McCarty of Richland, IA, and Renny McCarty (Kayetta Puga) of Stockport, IA; two siblings, David and Laura Shuffler, as well as several grandchildren and many extended family and friends.
