Robert Anthony Renner

Robert Anthony Renner, 78, of Burlington, died at 8:44 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.

      The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Patrick Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Lunning Chapel in Burlington, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a Christian wake service at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to St. Vincent DePaul Society Food Pantry.

Survivors include two sons, David and his wife Gwen Renner of Chillicothe, Ill., and Michael and his wife Cindy Renner of Burlington; two daughters, Teresa Hodge of Boise, Idaho, and Linda Luttenegger of Burlington; a sister, Anita Smith of Buffalo, N.Y.; and 12 grandchildren.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jim, his parents and three brothers.
