A memorial service for Robert “Blaine” Arnold, 85, of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2023, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Blue Grass American Legion where Blaine was a member.
Blaine was born on November 24, 1937, in Iowa City, a son of Samuel and Dorothy (Corns) Arnold. He proudly served our country in the Army. Blaine was united in marriage to Judy (Adrian) Fitzpatrick on July 5, 1980, in Davenport. They have shared over 42 years of marriage.
Blaine worked for many years at Case IH as a manager in the welding department retiring in 1998.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge as well as the Grottoes, Blue Grass American Legion and the Eastend Boulders Club. Blaine enjoyed riding motorcycles, reading, fishing, playing golf and bowling. When he was younger, he was quite the athlete playing baseball/softball and basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Judy, Davenport; children, Sharna (Rick Church) Morelli, Michigan, Robin (Carey) Tosello, Oregon, Jenell (Steve) Lamantia, Florida, Rob (Becky) Arnold II, Kentucky, Maureen Fitzpatrick, Kansas, Colleen (Paul) Garcia, Texas, and Michael (Cynthia) Fitzpatrick, Des Moines, Iowa; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Sapato, Moline; close friends, Lorene Allred, Bill and Marian Hufford and Gerald Schmidt.
Blaine was preceded in death by a daughter, Erin Fitzpatrick; his parents; a sister and brothers-in-law, Madeline (Jim) Ford and Arcie Sapato; and a close friend, Frank Allred. May they rest in peace.
