Robert C. Ward

      Robert C. Ward, 84, of Muscatine, formerly of Davis County, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine.

      A funeral was held this morning at Troy United Methodist Church in Troy, with the Rev. Donna Olinger officiating. Burial, with graveside military rites performed by Reed Whisler Post No. 78 of the American Legion, was at Troy Cemetery in Troy.

      A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association.

      Mr. Ward was born March 12, 1924, in Houstonia, Mo., the son of Charles Clyde and Josie May Whitesett Ward. He married Vivian Marie Tonkinson Oct. 23, 1949, in Lockridge.
