Robert Clayton Martin, 91, of Brighton, died late Thursday May 25, 2023, at the Keota Health Care Center. He was born July 27, 1931, in Rubio to Clayton and Ida Mae Farrier Martin. He grew up in Rubio and graduated from Richland High School in 1949. Bob married Joanna Ruth Krewson in Washington on September 11, 1948, and she died December 15, 2008. He farmed most of his life and was a crop adjuster for many years, was a member of Lake Darling Saddle Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Bob is survived by his children: Elaine Ann Martin and Richard Harlan Martin (Marilyn) both of Brighton, 2 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons Danial and Michael, 3 sisters: Wanda Derby, Ida Long and infant Jeanette Martin; and 2 brothers: Paul Martin and Charles Martin.

Bob requested cremation. A private graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Richland with Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. General Memorials may be mailed to the family at 3195 Highway 1, Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is assisting the family.
