Robert E. Gipple February 22, 1926 - November 7, 2005

      Robert E. Gipple, 79, of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at the First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. Jerry Kelly officiating. A lunch will follow the service at the church. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in the Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10 at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials have been established to the Mt. Union United Methodist Church and the Mt. Pleasant First Presbyterian Church.

      Survivors include his wife; three children, Steve Gipple of St. Louis, Mo., Marty Gipple of Des Moines, and Karen Wilson of Dallas, Texas; three step children, Gerald Garrels of Los Angeles, Calif., Linda Holtgrewe of Altoona, and Janette Busch of West Branch; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy DeHaan of Osceola, and Jane Blair of Park Rapids, Minn.

      In addition to his first wife, Lois, he was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, John.
