Robert E. Porter

Robert E. Porter, 89, of Washington, died Friday, April 3, 2009, at the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

    Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington with the Rev. Everett K. Burham officiating.  Burial with military honors conduced by Washington American Legion Post 29 will be at Elm Grove Cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today at the Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m.  Memorials have been established for Washington American Legion Post 29, or the American Heart Association.

    Mr. Porter was born June 8, 1919, in Washington County, the son of Edgar M. and Marion (Bandy) Porter.  He married Betty Redlinger on Aug. 10, 1943, in Needles, Calif.
