Robert F. Swift

Robert F. Swift, 62, of Bonaparte, died Sunday, Dec. 30, at Donnellson Health Center.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home and Crematory in Farmington with the family meeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home and Crematory of Farmington, with the Rev. Stephen Prickett officiating. Burial will be at Bayles Cemetery near Hillsboro, Iowa.

A memorial has been established in his memory.

He was born March 3, 1945 in Fairfield, the son of Virgil and Ruby Moss Swift, Sr.

He was a member of the former Big Mound Methodist Church, he served in the National Guard, he enjoyed farming and being on the farm.

He is survived by his special friend Doris Hopkins and her family of Hannibal, Mo.; one son, Gary Swift and his wife Renee of Conesville, Ohio, two step-granddaughters, five brothers: Roger Swift and his wife Freda of Cary, Ill., Daniel Swift of Hillsboro, Dennis Swift of Salem, Virgil Swift Jr. of Hillsboro, Terry Swift and his wife Sarah of Salem; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His parents preceded him in death.
