Robert George "Bob" Knerr, age 85, of Washington, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Celebration of life services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 18, 2021, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor David Ogburn officiating. Calling hours will begin at noon on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the Sandy Hook Cemetery in rural Brighton, Iowa at a later date.

Bob was born December 16, 1935, in Brighton, Iowa, the son of Roy and Bellva V. (Farrier) Knerr. He attended school in Brighton, Iowa, and graduated from Brighton High School in 1954. Robert was united in marriage to Ora Bella Martin on August 13, 1955, in Washington, Iowa.

Bob was a lifelong resident of Washington County. He worked on a farm for 24 years and was employed at Crane Valves for 19 years.

He is survived by his wife, Ora Knerr of Washington, Iowa; son, Randy Knerr and wife Mardi of Washington, Iowa; son, Rusty Knerr and wife Danna of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Rhonda Drayfahl and husband Bill of Columbus Junction, Iowa; son Robin Knerr and wife Jama of Norwalk, Iowa; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Eugene, LeRoy, Jack, Richard and Larry Knerr; and two sisters, Lois Freeman and Edna Mae Crawford.
