Robert Gerald 'Jerry' Hawkins

Robert Gerald "Jerry" Hawkins, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Keokuk, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

      The funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 11 at the Vigin Memorial Home in Keokuk, with Brother Bill Hauser officiating. Burial will be in the Sandusky Cemetery in rural Keokuk. Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. today at the memorial home with family present from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association or to the Henry County Dialysis Unit in Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Bonita Green of Olds; a son, Kenneth and his wife Kathy Hawkins of Salem; a brother, Herbert Hawkins of Keokuk; and six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Teddy; two sisters, Lula McLaughlin and Lenore Hawkins; and two sons-in-law, Rodger Canby and Bill Green.
