Robert Harrington Meyer, 61, of Bedford, Ind., died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at the Bloomington, Ind. Hospital after an apparent heart attack.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Wayland Mennonite Church in Wayland with the Rev. Steve Good and the Rev. Father Terry Stouvevel officiating. Burial will be in the North Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 at the Beatty Funeral Home with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Meyer was born March 1, 1938, at Akron, Ohio, the son of Elmer "Zip" and Kathryn Harrington Meyer. He married Willda E. Rich on Oct. 1, 1960. He retired as an Iowa State Trooper and was a member of the Iowa State Trooper Association. He was of the Catholic faith. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife of Bedford, Ind.; a daughter, Bobbie Ann Craeter of Dover, Del.; two sons, Corey Meyer of Abilene, Tex. and Curt Meyer of Havelick, N.C.; three brothers, Dr. Edwin G. Meyer of Alma, Mich., Dr. David G. Meyer of Alma, Mich., and Judson H. Meyer of Midwest City, Okla.; three sisters, Marilyn Linn of St. Louis, Mo., Melinda Fish of Bedford, Ind., and Ursula McCormick of Bedford, Ind.; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
