Robert J. 'Bob' Rich

WAYLAND - Robert J. "Bob" Rich, 78, of Wayland, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, in the Henry County Hospital in Mt. Pleasant following a short illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, in the Wayland Mennonite Church with the Rev. Linda Renken officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Cottonwood Cemetery. Visitation will be at noon Monday in the Wayland Mennonite Church with the family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland in assisting with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Central Iowa, the Parkview Home in Wayland or the Cottonwood Cemetery Fund.

      Mr. Rich was born Jan. 16, 1930 in Henry County, the son of Velma Rich Messer. He married Mildred Verlee Hill on Sept. 6, 1951 in the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua.
