Robert J. Kurtz

      Robert J. Kurtz, 93, of Brighton, died at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2007, at home.

      A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain.

      Visitation, with the family present, will be from 6-8 p.m. tonight at the church, with Prayers for a Christian Wake at 7 p.m.

      Memorials have been established to St. Joseph Church, Hospice of Washington County and the Arbor Day Foundation.

      Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Brighton.

      Mr. Kurtz was born Jan. 14, 1914, near Pleasant Plain, the son of Walter and Mary Bureker Kurtz. He married Winifred Ragan Sept. 12, 1951, in Washington, Iowa. She died March 4, 1994.
