Robert J. Kurtz

      BRIGHTON-Robert J. Kurtz, 93, of Brighton, died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at his home.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in East Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Charles J. Fladung officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in East Pleasant Plain. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church, with Prayers for a Christian Wake beginning at 7 p.m. Memorials have been established for St. Joseph Church, Hospice of Washington County, and the Arbor Day Foundation. Gould Funeral Home in Brighton is in charge of the arrangements.

      Mr. Kurtz was born on Jan. 14, 1914, near Pleasant Plain, to Walter and Mary (Bureker) Kurtz. He married Winifred Ragan on Sept. 12, 1951, in Washington. She preceded him in death on March 4, 1994.
