Robert Jackson Thornton

      Robert Jackson Thornton, five days, of Salem, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

      A private family graveside service will be held Friday, Nov. 24, at the Hillsboro Cemetery wth the Rev. Nathan Deatrick of the First Baptist Church of Wayland, Mo., officiating. Friends may sign the register and leave memorials on Friday from 10 to noon at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel in Mt. Pleasant. Memorials have been established to the Children?s Miracle Network.

      Survivors include his parents, Steve C. and Shauna L. Gorham Thornton of Salem; two brothers, Alex Bjorklund of New London and Mason Couch of Wayland, Mo.; two sisters, Stacy Thornton of New London and MaKenna Gorham of Salem; his grandparents, Robert and Colleen Gorham of Kahoka, Mo.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
