Robert Lawrence Forbes

    LONE TREE ? Robert Lawrence Forbes, 60, of Lone Tree, died Sunday, July 5, 2009, in the University of Iowa Hospitals following a brief illness.

    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 12, at the Lone Tree American Legion with Russ Forbes officiating.  Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery with military honors by the Lone Tree American Legion Post No. 457.  Following the burial, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion.  Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lone Tree American Legion.  A general memorial fund has been established.  The Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree is handling the arrangements.

    Mr. Forbes was born Oct. 9, 1948, in Iowa City, the son of Lawrence and Evelyn (Curtis) Forbes.  He married Janet Thomas in 1968.  The couple later divorced.  He married Maria Dalton on May 1, 1980, in Lone Tree.
