Robert Louis Knottnerus

      RIVERSIDE - Robert Louis Knottnerus, 80, of Washington, died Monday, June 2, 2008, in Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 5, in the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Riverside with the Rev. Sue Meade of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Riverside officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Public Cemetery. Following the committal service at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Iowa City Hospice or the Trinity United Methodist Church in Riverside.

      Mr. Knottnerus was born Jan. 24, 1928, in Washington County, the son of Rudolph and Hilda (Prymek) Knottnerus. He married Hilda Moore on Dec. 1, 1948 in Little Brown Church in Nashua.
