Robert McReynolds, 88, of Richland, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the Mahaska Health Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.

Robert Earl McReynolds, son of Harry Earl and Gertrude (Decker) McReynolds, was born September 9, 1934, in Fairfield, Iowa. He was a 1951 graduate of Richland High School. Bob married Mary Ann Gillis on May 24, 1953. Over Bob’s life, he worked for: Brighton Telephone Company, Amana Refrigeration, Louden’s Manufacturing, Bob’s Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Jefferson County Hospital, and as a pastor at Fairfield Friends Church. He especially enjoyed leading Bible study groups. Bob was also skilled in woodworking.

His family includes his six children: Linda (Tim) Mickels, Bev (Steve) Topping, Chris (Lonnie) Hesseltine, Jean (Bill) Blake, Pat McReynolds, and Bob (Sandra) McReynolds; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Teeter.

As was Bob’s wish, his body has been cremated, and a memorial service for Bob will be held on March 30, 2023, at Lake Darling State Park Lodge with a family/friend visitation at 9:30 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Mahaska Health Hospice Serenity House.
