Robert Steffens December 26, 1925 - October 25, 2005

      Robert W. "Bob" Steffens, 79 of Mt. Pleasant, died unexpectedly Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at his home.

      Friends may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family be present from 1 to 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m Friday at the Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Edward R. Peterson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Atlantic. Memorials have been established to the American Heart Association and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

      Survivors include his wife; two sons, Greg and his wife Deanne Steffens of Winterset and Dave and his wife Barb Steffens of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Becky and her husband Joe Salacki of Wildwood, Mo.; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Ruth Cook.
