Ainsworth, IA
Robert "Augie" Wollrab, 72, of Ainsworth, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018, at his home in Ainsworth. Visitation for Robert will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Riverside. Burial will be in the Riverside Public Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Riverside First Responders in memory of Robert. Robert Allen Wollrab was born on June 21, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Donald and Lavina (Kron) Wollrab. Robert served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1965 – 1967. On April 18, 1969, Robert was united in marriage to Doris Schwab in Galesburg, Illinois. Robert was a lifelong farmer and loved gardening, fishing, going to auctions, reminiscing about the good ole days, took pride in mowing and checking things around the block with his dog, Sandy. He especially loved to spend time with his family. Robert also enjoyed watching RFD, Andy Griffith and the weather channel, due to his job in the services as a weather man. Harvest time was one of his favorite times of the year as well as the planting season.
Robert will be deeply missed by his wife, Doris of Ainsworth; his children, Jeff (Cassie) Wollrab of Austin, TX, J.D. (Sue) Wollrab of Ainsworth and Michelle Wollrab of Ainsworth; seven grandchildren, Josh Gurrola, Ericka Gurrola, Megan Gurrola, Jesse Wollrab, Cessalie Wollrab, Isabella Wollrab and Bobby Wollrab; two great grandchildren, Mekhi and Brooklynn; and siblings, Larry Wollrab and special friend, Bev, of Galesburg, Illinois, Judy and Alfred Young of Washington, and Susan and Nicholas Stumpf of Ainsworth.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Wollrab.
