Roberta M. Shipler

      Roberta M. Shipler, 77, of Ottumwa, formerly of Batavia, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008, at home.

      A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Batavia Cemetery, with the Rev. David Albert officiating.

      Open visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Family visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The casket will remain closed.

      In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon and Iowa Hospice, 201 High Ave. E., Oskaloosa 52577.

      Mrs. Shipler was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Ottumwa, the daughter of Fred L. and Mary F. Bishop Robertson. She married David Shipler Dec. 24, 1958. He died Aug. 18, 2002.
