Roberta O. Abernathy

Roberta O. Abernathy, 88, of Selma, died at 2:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.

A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Ann Donat officiating. Burial will be in Iowaville Cemetery in Selma.

Open visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6-7 p.m.

Memorials to Iowaville Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 12179 118th Road, Selma 52588.

Mrs. Abernathy was born July 31, 1921, near Birmingham, the daughter of Thomas L. and Olive Layman Spees. She married Arden Abernathy Oct. 30, 1959. He died Dec. 27, 1985.
