Roberto Vazquez, age 42, of Mesa, Arizona, formerly of Ainsworth, Iowa, died Sunday, May 28, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital following a short illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 11:00 am. Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Ainsworth Community Church with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. The family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. A general memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent for Roberto’s family at www.jonesfh.com.

Roberto was born January 10, 1981, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Pedro and Sandra Marie (Mathews) Vazquez. He graduated from Highland High School in 1999 and attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Roberto has lived in Arizona for the past 13 years where he was employed at PayPal for the past 11 years. He enjoyed playing slow pitch softball and was a diehard Iowa Hawkeyes, New Orleans Saints and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He especially loved his three daughters.

He is survived by his daughters: Lyla, Scarlett and Penelope Vazquez of Melbourne, Florida; his fiancé, Samantha Colombaro of Mesa, Arizona; brother, Mark Antonio Vazquez of Kalona, Iowa; brother, Jason Vazquez and wife Jaclyn of Ft. Knox, Kentucky; sister, Kassandra Vazquez and fiancé Travis Kostello of Shalimar, Florida; sister, Nadia Vazquez of West Liberty, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Roberto was preceded in death by his mom, dad and grandparents.
