Roger D. Howe, 79, of Columbus Junction, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, following a sudden illness surrounded by family.

Celebration of Life will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2022, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin 12:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Columbus City Cemetery in Columbus City, Iowa. A memorial has been established in memory of Roger at the Adams County Illinois County Fair for the Equine Department. Roger was born October 25, 1943, in Quincy, Illinois, the son of Glenn and Ruth (Cunningham) Howe. He graduated from Central High School in Camp Point, Illinois. Roger was united in marriage to Beverly Byram on October 11, 2009.

Roger lived in Washington and Columbus Junction area for many years. He was a truck driver for Randolph’s Trucking and owned and operated The Red Power Museum in Columbus Junction. Roger was currently working for Nichols AG in Columbus Junction. Roger loved International Harvester tractors and his Dodge Ram truck. He judged horse shows across the United States and in Canada and was proud to show and hold lead line for his grandchildren, Cody and Madison, at the Iowa State Fair.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Howe of Columbus Junction, Iowa; daughter, Debbie (Gary) Taute of Camp Point, Illinois; son, Randy (Angie) Ihnen of Hamilton, Illinois; son Neil (Raquel) Howe of La Belle, Missouri; stepchildren, Steve Weller and companion Leigh Christensen of Rose Hill, Iowa; Mike Weller of Washington, Iowa; Tim (Dinah) Byram of Hurst, Texas; Tyson Byram of Haleiwa, Hawaii; and Jacob Byram of West Branch, Iowa; 19 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne (Nina) Howe of Macon, Missouri; sister, Doris Dressler of Rapid City, South Dakota; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and friend, Mae Weller.
