STEVENS POINT, Wis. ? Roger Dean Mound, 71, of Plover, Wisconsin, formerly of Keota, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at his home.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, at Celebration Church, 4701 Industrial Park Road, Stevens Point, Wisconsin 54481. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of the service, Oct. 29 at the church. Refreshments will follow the service.
Mr. Mound was born Jan. 14, 1945, the son of Keith Mound and Pearl (Luers) Mound of Keota.
He attended Keota high School and joined the Army Reserve Engineering Unit in Washington after graduation. He worked for Powell Furniture in Wellman before moving to Des Moines, where he worked for Onthank Furniture. In 1973 he and his family moved to Lakeville, Minnesota, where he was employed by Gephart Furniture. He was an active member of the Lakeville Lions Club and the Minnesota MG Club. He began a furniture restoration business in the 1980s, and in the mid-1990s he became a certified massage therapist. He started Therapeutic Massage Techniques in Plover, Wisconsin, and served many clients from the city of St. Paul, the St. Paul Fire Department and many other clients from his St. Paul, Minnesota, office. He also owned the Curves in Plover with his wife Nan for several years. He enjoyed tinkering and fixing things, and loved cars, boats, and drag racing. He was known for his sense of humor and quick wit as well as his dedication to helping others, especially through their healing processes. He was an active member of Celebration Church in Plover.
Surviving are his wife, Nan La Chapelle; two sons, Thomas and wife Melissa, and William, of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two grandchildren; Nan?s children, Brad Babcock, Ryan La Chapelle, Tacia Babcock, and Rebecca Kruger; and several nieces and nephews.
