Roger G. McGuire September 3, 1932 - April 28, 2004

Roger G. McGuire, 71, of Morton, Ill., formerly of Wayland, died at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at his residence.

      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 3 at the First Mennonite Church in Morton, with the Rev. Doane Brubaker officiating. The body will be cremated following the service, with burial at a later date. Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 2 at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday at the church. Memorials have been established to the First Mennonite Church in Morton, or the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, 4234 North Knoxville Ave., Peoria, IL 61614.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jim and his wife Darlene McGuire of Burns, Kan., and Jerry McGuire of Morton; two daughters, Susan McGuire of St. Louis, Mo., and Sally and her husband Tom Evans of Morton; three brothers, Emery and his wife Dolores McGuire of Wayland, Harry and his wife Violet McGuire of Olds, and Myron McGuire of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Meriel Benge of Washington; and 15 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, three great-grandsons and one step great-granddaughter.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother.
