Roger M. Bekel, 72, of Moline, Ill., passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Visitation will be held 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St., A, Moline.

Additional visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, at Hope Lutheran Church, Brighton, IA, with Graveside Services following at Hope Lutheran Cemetery, Brighton, IA, with Pastor Ryan Dexter officiating. Behner Funeral will be assisting the family with this visitation and graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, University of Iowa Cancer Center or Hope Lutheran Cemetery.

Roger was born July 19, 1948, in Fairfield, IA, the son of Merle G. and Erma Maxine (Reeder) Bekel. He married Katherine L. Loats on June 16, 1979, in Spencer, IA.

Roger retired from QCA Spa's, Bettendorf, IA. He enjoyed gardening, photography, Coca Cola collecting and DJ'ed at Country Western Dances.

Survivors include his wife, Kathie; sisters, Marilyn McGuire, Fairfield, IA, and Elaine (Leonard) Andeway, Richland, IA; brother, Donald (Nancy) Bekel, Fairfield, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
