Ronald Earle Hartzler

      KALONA - Ronald Earle Hartzler, 87, of Kalona, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2007, in Parkview Manor in Wellman following a long illness.

      Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. in the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church, near Kalona, with the Rev. Don Patterson and the Rev. Dick Swartzendruber officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church.

      Mr. Hartzler was born Jan. 13, 1920, in rural Parnell, the son of Herbert and Emma (Swartzendruber) Hartzler. He married Anna Mae Miller on Sept. 17, 1941, in rural Kalona.
