Ronald Lee “Ron” Robertson, age 66, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 7, 2022, following a sudden illness.

Celebration of life services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Collier officiating. Calling hours will begin at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. The family encourages those attending the services to wear casual attire. Interment will take place at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa. A memorial has been established for Ron’s grandchildren’s education fund. Ron was born January 23, 1956, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Dale F. and Mae (Janecek) Robertson. He attended school in Keota, Iowa, graduating from Keota High School in 1974. Ron was united in marriage to Carla Moore on October 1, 1977, in Washington, Iowa.

Ron lived all his adult life south of Washington where he farmed. When not working, Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards with his friends, and going to the Casino. He especially loved the time spent with his family and attending his grandchildren’s activities.

He is survived by his wife, Carla Robertson of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Angie Kruse and husband Matt of Waverly, Iowa; daughter, Michelle Schissel and husband Adam of Jesup, Iowa; five grandchildren: Jacob, Jordan, Addison and Ryne Kruse; and Tenley Schissel; sister, Maureen Robertson of Iowa City, Iowa; brother, Dale Jay Robertson and wife Connie of Wayland, Iowa; brother, Kenny Robertson and wife Marcia of Cotter, Iowa; sister, Kathy Lockhart and husband Terry of Iowa City, Iowa; and well as many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Dale F. and Mae Robertson.
