Ronald Merle Yaley, 66, of Burlington, died at 5:58 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at
the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born July 10, 1953, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Merle and Hazel Mowrey Yaley. On July 20, 1973, he married Sheila Roth. They later divorced. He married Barbara Moffett. They later divorced. On April 10, 1955, he married Sharon Lefstein in Oquawka, Ill. They would have celebrated 25 years together this year.
He was a 1971 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School. He graduated from SCC and also attended college in Moline and the University of Iowa.
Ron was in insurance sales most of his life prior to meeting his wife Sharon.
Earlier in his life he was of the Presbyterian faith. He loved sports in high school, he played football and was the first state qualifier for Mount Pleasant High School wrestling. He loved the Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, golfing, and was a sports fanatic. Ron always was so kind and would do anything for anybody, he was well loved.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Yaley of Burlington; father, Merle Yaley of Mount Pleasant; two daughters, Kesh (Dr. Robert Greiner II) Hecker-Greiner abd Danica (Aaron) Tolen, both of Lees Summit, Mo.; one son, Brandon Yaley of Kansas City, Mo.; stepdaughter, Dana (Michael Daly Joseph III Albright of Burlington; stepson, Jeremy (Jody) Kemp of Crystal Lake, Ill.; stepdaughter, Leslie (John) Kyriakopoulos; grandchildren, Karagen and Logan Hecker, Taryn snd Amira Tolen, expected June 8, 2020, Braiden and James Joseph "JJ" Yaley; one great-grandson, Braxton Ross; and step-grandchildren, Trey, Triniti and Tristyn Greiner, Avery and Kingston Tolen, Haley, Natalie and Tyler Albright, Kylie, Johnny Kemp and Jonathon Kyriakopoulos.
He was preceded in death by his mother, and infant brother, Richard.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home.
The funeral service for Ronald will be 4 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home, with Chaplain David Plooster officiating.
