Ronald P. Hart
Ronald P. Hart, 90, of Salem, died at 11:40 p.m., June 8, 2000, at the Henry County Health Center.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, with the Rev. David Plooster and the Rev. Hank Ledbetter officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Beatty Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with the family present from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Mr. Hart was born March 23, 1910, at Big Clifty, Ky., the son of William Brown and Ida Carmen Hatfield Hart. He married Bertha Julia Mills on December 25, 1931. He was a retired farmer and had been employed by Iowa Army Ammunition Plant of Middletown. A member of Oakland Mills Community Church, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and horseback riding, and was a member of the Lockridge Rough Riders.
Survivors include three sons, Gary, Theodore, and Ronnie, all of Mt. Pleasant; five daughters, Janet Young, Joan Millard, and Cherry Hermanstorfer of Mt. Pleasant, Berta Pearson of New London, and Ginger Cole of Lockridge; 34 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Marvin Hart of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; four sisters, Irene Molander of Winfield, Edith Lauger of Rockford, Ill., Mildred Hughes of Louisville, Ky., and Wanda Goode of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his wife, son Larry, grandson Randy Hart, his parents, and his brother Robert Hart.
