Ronald D. Reif, 89, of Stockport, formerly of Richland, died late Sunday, April 18, 2021, at St. Luke's Helen G. Nassif Transitional Care Center in Cedar Rapids.

He was born April 28, 1931, in Marquette, Iowa, to Clarence Milton and Minnie Dorthea Ida Clinton Reif. Ron graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1949 and attended Iowa State University. He served in the United States Air Force and married Ellie May Mitchy, they were later divorced. He married Rose Marie Pullin on Feb. 14, 1972. She died Jan. 9, 2003. Ron worked for the Iowa DOT Road Engineering Department for many years. He was a member of the FOE No. 1927 in Fairfield and the Iowa Mustangs Unstabled Car Club and Corn Country Cruisers Car Club. He enjoyed car shows, car cruises, country music and dancing.

Ron is survived by his brother, Gary Reif and his wife, Betty of Waterloo; two grandsons, David Reif of San Antonio, Texas, and Darryl Reif of Austin, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Coraline and Cody.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marie; son, Ronnie; stepson, Rick Mowdy; and special friend, Nancy Harryman.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday April 23, at Richland Methodist Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Elrod officiating. Due to COVID-19 concerns, masks and social distancing are requested. A memorial for cCemetery upkeep has been established and may be left at the service or mailed to Gould Funeral Home, P.O. Box 149, Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Richland is assisting the family.
