Ronald Scot Lown was born December 7, 1961, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Stanley Lee & Bevaline Mae Stewart. He grew up on the farm outside of North English. He graduated from English Valleys High School in 1980 and Iowa State University with a degree in finance. On June 2, 1984, Ron was united in marriage to Kendra Louise Walker in Iowa City. He was a member of the Clover Ridge Methodist Church in Walford. Ron was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. He enjoyed playing golf, watching football and basketball, and spending time with his family. Ron died on Monday, April 15, 2024, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, at the age of 62 years.

He is survived by his wife Kendra of Walford; a daughter Breanne (Adolfo) Benitez of North Liberty; daughter-in-law Courtney Lown of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren Noelle, Bo & Wesley Lown and Asher Benitez; a sister-in-law Brenda (Tom ) Walker-Mehlert; a brother-in-law Arthur Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents; son Brad; and three brothers Randy, Roger and Rick Lown.

Celebration Of Life Service was held 10:00 am on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the Powell Funeral Home in North English. Burial will be in the North English Cemetery. Visitation was on Thursday, from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A general memorial fund has been established. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
