Ronald Wayne Chamberlin
Ronald Wayne Chamberlin, 86, passed away at his home in Palm Desert, Calif., on Sept. 6, 2007, a well-loved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and loved by many relatives and friends. He was born to Harry and Alma Chamberlin, March 13, 1921, the youngest of 5 children. On August 31, 1940, he married Maxine Simons at the Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, and celebrated their 67th Anniversary just 3 days before his passing. In April 1942 he enlisted in the United States Marines and served as Platoon Sgt. until the end of WWII coming home to Washington on Christmas day, 1945. Wayne and his brother, Dallas, then opened their Sport Shop on the north east corner of the square and enjoyed sponsoring the Comets Basketball team, especially their annual game with the Harlem Globe Trotters. Wayne also coached and sponsored the Women's Softball team.
