Rosa L. Prevett, 81, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at her daughter’s home.

Rosa was born on February 12, 1941, in Davis County, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond Lee and Effie (Cole) Rupe. Rosa was united in marriage to George William Prevett, Sr., on December 27, 1959, in Wapello County. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1993. She was a hard worker and always a caregiver to others. She worked at Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant for 25 years and later took care of people in their homes. Rosa enjoyed crocheting, puzzles of all kinds and reading different books. Most of all she loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Renee (Curt) Ridinger of Mt. Pleasant and Roger Prevett of Stockport, 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, her brothers and sister, James Rupe of Kansas City, Missouri, John Rupe and Peggy Carter, both of North Carolina.

Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, two sons, Gregory R. Prevett and George W. Prevett, Jr., one brother, Donald Rupe, and two sisters, Shirley Wood and Deanna Findley.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Hillsboro Cemetery, with words of comfort by Jeff Murphy. Memorials may be directed to the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice of West Burlington in her memory.
